Coherence and de-coherence in the Time-Resolved ARPES of realistic materials: An ab-initio perspective

Coherence and de-coherence are the most fundamental steps that follow initial photo-excitation occurring in typical Pump&Probe experiments. Indeed, external laser pulse transfers coherence to system terms of creation multiple electron-hole pairs excitation. The excitation concurs both a finite carriers density appearance induced electromagnetic fields. two effects, very first approximation, can be connected simple concepts populations oscillations. dynamics following is, thus, entirely dictated by interplay between de-coherence. This process itself, is due correlation effects stimulated photo-excitation. Single-particle, like electron-phonon, two-particles, electron-electron, scattering processes induce complex electrons that, turn, makes description correlated photo-excited pure excitonic and/or challenging.
